
Harriet read music at Balliol College, Oxford, where she was the holder of the Richard Lewis Nettleship Instrumental Exhibition. Prior to this she was a student of Daphne Boden’s at the Royal College of Music, Junior Department and was successful in many competitions there, winning amongst others the Ruby White Prize. She then continued her studies with Imogen Barford at Trinity College of Music where she was generously supported by awards from the Musician’s Benevolent Fund, The Countess of Munster Musical Trust and The Martin Musical Scholarship Fund.
Appearances in the last three years include playing at St James’s Palace for a celebration of the Queen Mother’s Hundredth birthday, touring Cyprus with the Girl Choristers of Exeter Cathedral as their guest soloist, a performance of Handel’s Harp Concerto with the Ten Tors Orchestra under the direction of Simon Ible and being selected to play at the Eighth World Harp Congress in Geneva.
She has been the Principal Harpist with the National Youth Sinfonia, Oxford University Chamber Orchestra and Trinity College of Music Symphony Orchestra. She is a member of the Barkham Harp Quartet, whose engagements have included performances at St James’s Piccadilly and the Windsor, Bromsgrove and Two Moors Festivals.
